Arno Villringer is Director of the Department of Neurology at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig and head of the Department of Cognitive Neurology at the University of Leipzig Medical Center. Since 2022, he is the Chairperson of the Human Sciences Section of Max Planck Society. He is a neurologist and neuroscientist and his research focuses on mind-brain-body interactions as well as neural and behavioral processes underlying the development of risk factors (obesity, hypertension) for neurological disorders such as stroke. He is also a well-known expert for neuroimaging methods such as MRI, EEG, and optical methods.
